Colorado - The Colorado mountains, part of the Rockies, are popular with climbers and skiers. Idaho - Ernest Hemingway died in Idaho. Montana - There are seven Reservations in Montana. Nevada - Las Vegas, Nevada is the largest U.S. city founded in the 20th century. New Mexico - The first atomic bomb test took place in New Mexico in 1945. Oregon - The Oregan Trail was a route which pioneers travelled in wagons to settle new parts of the United States of America. It ended in Oregan. Utah - The Great Salt Lake has no outlet. When the water evaporates, the salt brought in by its tributaries gets left behind. Washington - Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980.
