Chinese Numbers

Chinese Numbers --- Standard --- Financial --- Rod

Standard Chinese numbers date back to about 1400 BC or earlier, although the numbers may have changed their form. There is a more elaborate version used for financial purposes like banknotes. Rod numbers started being used from about the 4th century BC. They are based on an early form of abacus. All these systems are still in use today for formal purposes, although calculation is done using Arabic numbers.
